Map the road. Not the driver.
The Android and iPhone apps are available in public beta. They collect road-condition information to help understand pavement, without displaying individual travel histories on the public map.
Process locally
High-frequency sensor readings can be evaluated on the phone so unnecessary raw data never has to leave it.
Public beta installation status
When the app opens, it reports its random installation ID, device model, operating-system and app versions, app install/update times, last-opened time, and pending upload count so beta installations and updates can be managed. It sends no name, phone number, hardware ID, advertising ID, contacts, photos, or microphone data.
Keep only road evidence
Uploaded events contain the location, time, speed, severity or road-motion reading, GPS accuracy, app version, network type, and random installation ID needed to evaluate the road and operate the beta.
Separate people from reports
Public maps describe road conditions without displaying who drove a route or an individual vehicle’s travel history.
No location-data advertising
The product is intended to serve drivers and communities, not sell personal movement data for advertising.
Voluntary iPhone beta signup
The iPhone beta is available now through Apple TestFlight. If you use our optional beta signup form, we store your email address and optional ZIP code to contact you about Sucky Roads beta testing and understand where testers are located. Submitting the form takes you directly to TestFlight; it is not a waiting list.
Contact form information
If you contact Sucky Roads through the website, we store the name, email address, message category, and message you voluntarily provide so we can review and reply to your inquiry. Contact messages are kept in the private admin area and are also delivered by email through Resend. Contact-form information is not used as road telemetry or shown on the public map.
Start, stop, and delete
Measurement starts only when you tap Start Drive and stops when you tap Stop Drive. The beta also lets you clear local and queued data or request deletion of road data uploaded by that installation.
Public beta · Android + iPhone
The policy matches what the beta actually does.
Both the Android and iPhone apps are available in public beta and use random installation identifiers for road-data collection. Android is available as a direct download, and iPhone is available through Apple TestFlight. As the product grows, this policy will be updated before any new category of personal data is collected or any new use is introduced.
